About Out of Doors
From October 2008 to June 2010 Flevotomos made frequent expeditions across Greece in search of new ways of painting ˇmusically.˘ This two-year exploration led to a series of medium and small size watercolour pieces - a series that has been described by the painter as ˇan ongoing visual study on the passage of time and the concepts of time-experience and time-sense.˘ The general title of these pictures has been inspired by Bartok˘s piano composition Out of Doors. The names of the two subcategories, 12 Studies and 12 Pieces were also taken from the musical repertoire.
